Our whole ethos surrounds the concept of "Be Nice, Be Ethical, Be Responsible!".

But we aren't just a bunch of talkers: We put our money where our mouth is! We donate all net-retained profits to charities with our shared interests at heart. In line with this, we have partnered with the Marine Conservation Society for the 2011 financial year. Our considerable financial contributions have already been recognised with the recent award of Silver Corporate Membership. We're aiming for Gold but to do this we need you to keep buying from us! We pledge to donate all net-retained profits to their incredible work.

We work hard to ensure that the environmental impact of our company is limited and where possible, positive.

Some examples of this are:

• We actively encourage customers to return their Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment to us when purchasing new. To learn more about this initiative please see: http://www.environment-agency.gov.uk/business/regulation/31975.aspx 

• Our packaging is often recycled, re-used and where possible biodegradable. If your item arrives in a squishy nest of office shredding and old newspapers don’t be surprised! Its great packing and makes even better compost… Don’t try that with bubble wrap!

• We stride to act in a way that is friendly and directed by a clear moral compass. When you pick up the phone to call us you’ll be trusted, respected and treated as we would our friends and family. We’re a friendly bunch and make no excuses for it! If you ever feel ill-treated or like a raw-deal was had, get in touch. We promise to do our best to put it right.

• We are hunting high and low for environmentally friendly products to replace those that are less kind or even harmful. You may have seen our huge range of bio-degradable Boat Cleaning Products and Engine Oils. But that’s not enough. If you know of any similar products that you can recommend please let us know and we’ll aim to stock them. We’re trying our best and will continue to work especially hard in this area.

• We ban unnecessary travel. We drop ship items if possible. This means that if a product you order isn’t in stock, we’ll do our best to have it sent directly from the supplier. This not only saves money and time but also means its one less journey for that product to make and less carbon being released into our atmosphere.

• We’re earmarking funding to check our environmental credentials and suggest improvements. We will bring in external organisations to test, critique and approve the way we work. Our Carbon Footprint is being measured right now so that we can actively monitor it at every turn. In the meantime, if you have any suggestions please let us know; if we can reasonably implement a positive change we will.
